About Us

Canyon Wire is an independent publication covering consumer technology, business and the practical questions people search for answers to. The Site launched in August 2025 and publishes explainers, how-to guides and comparison articles written for readers who want to understand how something works, not just be told that it does.

We are a small, independently operated publication rather than a large newsroom. That shapes what we do and what we do not attempt, and this page sets out both.

What We Cover

Our work concentrates on three areas, listed in order of how much of it we publish.

  • Technology. How consumer software, devices and online services actually work: what a feature does, how to set it up, why something stopped working, and which option suits which reader.
  • Business. Practical guidance for people running or growing small online businesses, including ecommerce, dropshipping and the tools and platforms involved.
  • Buying guides and comparisons. Roundups of software and services compiled from published documentation, specifications and pricing.

We also publish occasional coverage of general news, lifestyle and entertainment topics. Our focus has moved steadily towards explanatory and evergreen writing rather than breaking news, because a small publication cannot cover a developing story faster or more reliably than a wire service.

How We Research and Write

We work from primary sources: official documentation, company announcements, published research, regulatory filings and government data, rather than rewriting what another site has said. When we cite a statistic we trace it to the organisation that produced it and link there, so readers can check the figure themselves.

Facts, figures, dates, product specifications and names are verified against an original source before publication rather than carried across from another article that happened to state them. Where a claim is contested or the evidence is thin, we say so in the piece instead of presenting one position as settled. We do not conduct original interviews, and we do not present quotations we did not obtain.

How We Cover Products

Our buying guides and comparisons are built from published specifications, manufacturer documentation and advertised pricing. Unless an article states otherwise, we have not physically tested the products discussed, and we say so rather than implying hands-on review we did not carry out. Rankings reflect our assessment of publicly available information. We recommend verifying current specifications and pricing with the vendor before purchasing.

Editorial Guidelines and Ethics

Canyon Wire is funded by display advertising served through Google AdSense. Advertisers receive no advance sight of our articles and have no influence over what we cover. We do not accept payment for editorial coverage, we do not sell links within articles, and we do not publish paid guest contributions presented as independent editorial content. The Site does not currently use affiliate links.

We do not publish gambling or betting content, articles written to host a paid link, or material sold as a search engine optimisation product. Where content of this kind has previously appeared on the Site, it has been removed.

Our full standards are set out in our Editorial Policy, and the limits of what our content should be relied on for are described in our Disclaimer.

Corrections

We correct errors openly. A confirmed factual error is corrected promptly and the article carries a dated note explaining what changed. Minor amendments such as typographical fixes are made without a note. To report an error, email contact@canyonwire.com with the article URL and the specific claim in question.

Who Publishes Canyon Wire

Articles carry the Canyon Wire Desk byline, which identifies our editorial desk rather than an individual reporter, because our work is produced through the research and review process described above. Editorial responsibility for everything published on the Site rests with the editor.

Where a named contributor with relevant expertise writes or reviews an article, that person is credited on the article itself.
