112,002,852 shares | 0.84% | ₹13,328 crore ($1.40 billion) at ₹1,190

The NSE shareholding pattern for 30 September 2026 names six individuals among Reliance’s promoters: Mukesh D Ambani (16,104,040 shares), Nita, Isha, Akash and Anant Ambani (16,104,042 each) and K D Ambani (31,482,644). At the 23 October 2026 close of ₹1,190.00 his own block is worth ₹1,916 crore, or $202 million at ₹94.9432 per dollar.

That is 0.12 percent of Reliance. It paid ₹7,443 crore of dividends for FY26, so a 0.12 percent holder received about ₹9 crore. The remaining 49.60 percent of the promoter group’s 50.44 percent is held through companies and LLPs.

2. Jio Financial Services: A Second Listed Holding

Promoter group 49.13% | ₹66,509 crore ($7.0 billion) | Share price ₹205.03

Jio Financial Services, listed in 2023 after Reliance spun off its finance arm, has a promoter group that holds 3,243,887,366 of its 6,603,141,623 shares, or 49.13 percent at 30 September 2026. The same six family individuals and the same LLPs appear in its filing.

At the 23 October 2026 NSE close of ₹205.03, down 2.74 percent on the day, the group’s stake is worth ₹66,509 crore ($7.0 billion) inside a company valued at ₹1,35,384 crore ($14.3 billion). Reliance’s annual report says the family controls both companies through voting rights.

3. Jio Platforms: The Biggest Earner

Reliance owns 66.43% | Outside holders 33.57% | FY26 EBITDA ₹76,255 crore ($8.0 billion)

Jio Platforms produced FY26 gross revenue of ₹1,72,317 crore ($18.1 billion) and EBITDA of ₹76,255 crore at a 51.9 percent margin, the largest EBITDA of any Reliance segment. For the quarter to 30 June 2026 the margin reached 53.3 percent on EBITDA of ₹20,865 crore ($2.2 billion).

Its 2020 investors paid ₹1,52,056 crore in total, about $20.8 billion at the ₹73.11 rate in the 2020-21 report, and Facebook’s ₹43,574 crore bought 9.99 percent at a ₹4.62 lakh crore pre-money enterprise value in April 2020. Jio filed its draft offer document with SEBI in April to June 2026. An initial public offering would give it a price.

4. Reliance Retail: Thin Margins on Huge Volume

Reliance owns 83.56% | FY26 EBITDA ₹27,033 crore ($2.8 billion) | Gross revenue ₹3,70,026 crore ($39.0 billion)

Retail’s FY26 EBITDA margin was 8.3 percent on revenue from operations of ₹3,27,143 crore. In the June 2026 quarter it booked gross revenue of ₹90,408 crore ($9.5 billion), up 7.4 percent, and EBITDA of ₹6,309 crore ($665 million), down 1.1 percent.

In 2020 it raised ₹47,265 crore for 10.09 percent, and KKR paid ₹5,550 crore (about $759 million at ₹73.11) for 1.28 percent at a ₹4.21 lakh crore pre-money value on 23 September 2020. By June 2026 it had 20,169 stores and 568 million transactions in the quarter.

5. Oil to Chemicals: The Largest Revenue Line

FY26 revenue ₹6,62,401 crore ($69.8 billion) | EBITDA ₹60,546 crore ($6.4 billion) | Margin 9.1%

Oil to Chemicals reported FY26 revenue of ₹6,62,401 crore, equal to 56 percent of the group’s ₹11,75,919 crore of gross revenue, and 29 percent of its EBITDA. Exports were ₹2,78,570 crore ($29.3 billion).

In the June 2026 quarter revenue rose 30.4 percent to ₹2,01,803 crore ($21.3 billion) as crude prices climbed 54.1 percent on the year. EBITDA reached ₹17,010 crore ($1.8 billion), up 17.2 percent, though the margin fell to 8.4 percent from 9.4 percent.

6. Oil and Gas: Small Revenue, High Margin

FY26 revenue ₹23,861 crore ($2.5 billion) | EBITDA ₹19,050 crore ($2.0 billion) | Margin about 80%

Exploration and production turned ₹23,861 crore of FY26 revenue into ₹19,050 crore of EBITDA, 9 percent of the group total from 2 percent of its revenue. The June 2026 quarter added ₹4,973 crore ($524 million) of EBITDA on revenue of ₹6,298 crore.

Reliance said improved realisation on KG D6 oil and condensate kept EBITDA stable on the year, while lower KG D6 gas production and prices offset some of the gain.

What the Businesses Earn: Segment EBITDA in the 2025-26 Annual Report

Four segments produced ₹1,82,884 crore ($19.3 billion) of EBITDA, 88 percent of the group. Jio contributed ₹76,255 crore (37 percent of the ₹2,07,911 crore consolidated total), Oil to Chemicals ₹60,546 crore (29 percent), Retail ₹27,033 crore (13 percent) and oil and gas ₹19,050 crore (9 percent). The remainder came from other businesses.

The June 2026 quarter shows the mix moving. Consolidated EBITDA was a record ₹54,067 crore ($5.7 billion) on revenue of ₹3,40,257 crore ($35.8 billion), and Jio’s ₹20,865 crore was 39 percent of it. Profit after tax was ₹23,196 crore ($2.4 billion).

Book Value Versus Market Value: Two Different Net Worths

Reliance’s own balance sheet shows a net worth of ₹8,67,828 crore ($91.4 billion) at 31 March 2026. That is the accounting value of shareholders’ equity. The NSE valued the company at ₹16,10,372 crore ($169.6 billion) on 23 October 2026.

A founder’s net worth tracks the second number, because the first is what was paid in and retained, not what a buyer pays today. Net debt was ₹1,22,914 crore ($12.9 billion) on 30 June 2026, 0.57 times annualised EBITDA, so debt is a small part of the gap.

How a 50.44 Percent Family Group Holds Reliance Shares

The promoter group holds 6,715,496,096 shares, 50.44 percent, across 47 shareholders that hold shares. Four LLPs hold 35.70 percent: Srichakra Commercials (11.11 percent) and Devarshi, Karuna and Tattvam (8.20 percent each). Reliance Industries Holding, Reliance Industrial Investments and Holdings, Reliance Services and Holdings and Sikka Ports and Terminals hold another 11.30 percent. See limited liability partnership for the legal form.

The filing shows who holds the votes. It does not show the beneficial split, and the 10 percent test is simple: a 10 percent move in the share price changes the group’s stake by ₹79,914 crore ($8.4 billion), while it changes Mukesh Ambani’s direct block by ₹192 crore ($20 million). This is general information, not financial advice.
