Best Email Verification Tools featured image with ZeroBounce and MillionVerifier screens

The best email verification tools check whether an address can actually receive mail before you send to it, so your bounce rate stays low and your sender reputation stays intact. Prices vary more than the features do: verifying 10,000 addresses costs anywhere from $39 to $129 depending on the service, and free allowances run from a one-off 100 credits to 100 every month.

We compared seven of them on what 10,000 checks cost, what you get free, and the terms that decide the real price, such as whether credits expire and whether you pay for results the tool could not confirm. Every price below comes from the vendor’s own pricing page, in US dollars, checked on 25 September 2026.

Seven Email Verification Tools Worth Using

1. ZeroBounce: Best Overall, With Free Credits Every Month

Free: 100 every month · 10,000 checks: $129 · Smallest purchase: 2,000 for $39

ZeroBounce is the only tool here whose free plan refills: 100 validations every month, with no card needed. Paid credits start at $39 for 2,000 on pay as you go, and 10,000 cost $129. A ZeroBounce ONE subscription starts at $99 a month for 10,000 credits and bundles inbox placement tests, blacklist monitoring and an email finder.

It is the most expensive per check, and the extras are the reason. ZeroBounce guarantees 99.6% accuracy, does not charge for unknown results, and says it deletes uploaded data after 30 days. Credits never expire while you hold a ZeroBounce ONE subscription; pay-as-you-go credits may carry expiry terms.

2. MillionVerifier: Cheapest Per Check

Free: 100 · 10,000 checks: $39 · Smallest purchase: 10,000 for $39

MillionVerifier is the price leader by a distance. Its packages start at 10,000 checks for $39, fall to $89 for 50,000, and reach $449 for a million, which works out under half a cent per check. Credits never expire, catch-all verification is included, and a new account gets 100 free credits.

It also refunds any address it marks as risky rather than billing you for a guess, and offers a money-back guarantee. The trade-off is focus: its services centre on verification, list cleaning and automated cleaning of your email platform, rather than the inbox-placement tools ZeroBounce and Bouncer also sell.

3. Emailable: Most Free Credits Up Front

Free: 250 · 10,000 checks: $60 · Smallest purchase: 5,000 for $38

Emailable gives 250 free credits, the largest one-off allowance here. After that the minimum purchase is 5,000 credits for $38, and 10,000 cost $60, or $51 a month on a monthly plan. Credits never expire, and duplicates and unknown results are credited back.

Speed is its other selling point. Emailable says it typically processes 10,000 addresses in under three minutes, and it takes PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay as well as cards.

4. Bouncer: Best for Small, Occasional Lists

Free: 100 · 10,000 checks: $60 · Smallest purchase: 1,000 for $8

Bouncer has the lowest entry point of the pay-as-you-go tools: 1,000 credits for $8. Prices fall with volume, to $60 for 10,000 and $400 for 100,000. Credits never expire, and Bouncer does not charge for duplicates or unknown results.

That makes it a good fit for anyone who cleans a list a few times a year. Bouncer also sells a deliverability kit from $25 a month and a real-time form checker called Bouncer Shield, but you do not need either to verify a list.

5. Kickbox: For Teams That Need Compliance Paperwork

Free: 100 · 10,000 checks: $70 · Smallest purchase: 500 for $5

Kickbox publishes a plain price ladder: the first 100 verifications are free, then $5 for 500, $10 for 1,000, $70 for 10,000 and $500 for 100,000. It refunds the credit when it cannot give a definitive result.

Its case rests on compliance rather than price. Kickbox says it is GDPR-compliant and SOC II certified, with verification and support based in both the US and the EU, which matters to companies that have to answer a security questionnaire before buying software.

6. NeverBounce: For Automatic Cleaning Inside Your CRM

Free: Free test credits · 10,000 checks: $49 a month (Growth plan) · Smallest purchase: 1,000 for $8

NeverBounce, now owned by ZoomInfo, charges $8 per 1,000 credits on pay as you go, and those credits expire 12 months after purchase. Its Growth plan costs $49 a month for up to 10,000 verifications and syncs with your CRM so new contacts are checked automatically.

It connects to more than 80 platforms, including HubSpot, Mailchimp and Zapier, and fixes common typos such as gmai for gmail. New accounts can run a free list analysis with test credits before paying.

7. Hunter: Free Checks Alongside an Email Finder

Free: 100 checks a month · 10,000 checks: $104 a month (Growth, billed yearly) · Smallest purchase: Starter, $34 a month billed yearly

Hunter is an email finder first, and its verifier shares the same credits. Each verification uses half a credit, so the free plan’s 50 monthly credits cover 100 checks. Starter costs $34 a month billed yearly, or $49 monthly, and its 2,000 credits a month cover 4,000 verifications.

Hunter does not charge for unknown results and skips disposable addresses. Its website also has a single-address checker that works without signing up, which is handy for checking one contact before you send.

How Email Verification Works

Every tool here runs the same basic checks, in roughly this order:

  1. Syntax: whether the address is formatted correctly.
  2. Domain: whether the domain exists and has mail (MX) records.
  3. Mailbox: a conversation with the receiving mail server to see whether the specific inbox exists, without sending a message.
  4. Risk flags: disposable addresses, role accounts such as info@, and known spam traps.

The hard cases are catch-all domains, which accept mail for any address, and servers that refuse to answer. Those come back as unknown or risky. That is why refund policies matter: ZeroBounce, Emailable, Bouncer, Kickbox and Hunter do not charge for unknowns, and MillionVerifier refunds risky results.

Credits, Expiry and the Real Cost of a List

The sticker price per check is only part of the cost. Two terms change it:

  • Expiry: Emailable, Bouncer and MillionVerifier credits never expire. NeverBounce credits expire after 12 months, so a large pack bought for one campaign can go to waste.
  • Duplicates and unknowns: old or merged lists tend to carry both, and tools that credit them back are effectively cheaper than their price suggests.

If you send from a desktop client rather than a marketing platform, clean the list before importing it; our guide to Outlook alternatives covers clients that handle large contact lists well.

Which Email Verification Tool to Choose

For the lowest cost, MillionVerifier wins at every volume, starting at $39 for 10,000. For a small list you clean occasionally, Bouncer’s $8 entry pack and non-expiring credits are the easiest buy. If you want free checks every month and a deliverability toolkit, ZeroBounce is worth its higher price.

Pick Kickbox when compliance paperwork matters, NeverBounce when you want verification running inside your CRM, and Hunter when you are finding new contacts as well as checking them. Whichever you choose, start with the free credits on a sample of your real list, since results vary most on old and catch-all-heavy lists. Teams that live in shared inboxes may also want our comparison of team communication tools.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a free email verification tool?

Yes, for small volumes. ZeroBounce gives 100 free validations every month, Hunter’s free plan covers 100 checks a month, and Emailable, Kickbox, Bouncer and MillionVerifier give one-off free credits between 100 and 250.

How much does email verification cost?

Between $39 and $129 for 10,000 addresses across these tools, or roughly $0.004 to $0.013 per address. Prices per check fall as the pack size rises.

How accurate are email verification tools?

ZeroBounce guarantees 99.6% accuracy and MillionVerifier claims 99% or better, on addresses they can confirm. No tool can confirm catch-all domains with certainty, so those come back as unknown or risky.
