Two numbers explain most of the Jeff Bezos net worth figure published on 24 October 2026: 879,323,424 Amazon shares and a $130 billion value for Blue Origin. With the stock at $248.00, Forbes’s real-time total was $368.1 billion, second in the world.

Amazon’s part comes from SEC filings and a share price, so it can be checked. Blue Origin’s part comes from a funding round reported in July 2026. This guide traces each stake to a document, shows how the 2019 divorce reshaped the share count and sizes the swings. It is general information, not financial advice.

Jeff Bezos Net Worth Is $218 Billion of Stock Plus $130 Billion of Rocket Company

Jeff Bezos is worth $368.1 billion as of 24 October 2026 on Forbes’s real-time list, second in the world. Amazon stock is $218.1 billion, or 59 percent, and Blue Origin is $130 billion, or 35 percent. Everything else together is about $20 billion.

The $20 billion is subtraction, not a published figure: $368.1 billion less the two large lines. It has to cover cash from stock sales, The Washington Post, a venture portfolio and property.

What the 2019 Divorce Settlement Did to the Share Count

Amazon told the SEC on 4 April 2019 that shares equal to about 4.0 percent of its stock would go into MacKenzie Bezos’s name as separate property. Jeff Bezos kept sole voting authority through a proxy, which ends for any shares she sells in the open market or gives to a charity expecting a sale.

The annual filings quantify it. His report for 31 December 2018 shows 78,818,217 shares at 16.1 percent. The one for 31 December 2019 shows 57,551,216 shares he can sell and 19,498,207 more that he only votes, 15.5 percent in all.

The proxy block has been shrinking. In his filing dated 8 October 2025 it was 81,082,131 shares. By the holdings date in Amazon’s 2026 proxy statement it was 68,232,131. A beneficial owner under SEC rules includes shares one can vote, which is why that proxy statement lists him at 950,434,581 shares and 8.8 percent.

At the 23 October price, the 389,964,140 shares the 2019 transfer moved, adjusted for the later split, are worth $96.7 billion. They are counted by neither the stake of 879,323,424 nor the net worth totals.

From 78.8 Million Shares to 879 Million: The 2022 Split and the Sales

Amazon’s 20-for-1 stock split, effective for trading on 6 June 2022, multiplied every holding by 20, as its May 2022 filing states. His 57,551,216 sellable shares of 2019 become 1.15 billion on that basis, and 879 million today.

The difference is the sales and gifts. His Form 4 sales since 2017 total about $44.7 billion gross, and Form 4 gifts from 2023 to August 2026 total 12,100,616 shares. Between 30 September 2025 and 26 August 2026 his count fell from 883,258,188 to 879,323,424 shares: 2.7 million gifted and 1.2 million sold.

Sales cluster under Rule 10b5-1 plans, which fix dates and amounts in advance. Under Rule 144 an insider files a Form 144 notice before selling. The one dated 3 August 2026 covered 15,000,000 shares with an aggregate market value of $4,073,700,000.

Blue Origin: How a Private Company Earns a $130 Billion Price

Blue Origin’s price came from a round, not a market. On 8 July 2026 the New York Times reported about $10 billion at a $130 billion valuation before the new money, and CNBC reported Coatue Management at about $4 billion and Bezos at $2 billion. Forbes uses $130 billion in its estimate.

Before that, Bezos funded the company himself. In April 2017 he said he sold about $1 billion of Amazon stock a year to pay for it, and his Form 4 sales that year were $2.0 billion. Blue Origin’s website dated 16 October 2026 describes work on launching more often from Florida.

Risk shows in the same news. A New Glenn rocket was destroyed in a ground test in late May 2026, and the company says it will fly again by the end of 2026. A valuation is a bet on that schedule.

The Washington Post, Prometheus and a Clock Inside a Mountain

The Washington Post cost $250 million in cash, signed 5 August 2013 and closed 1 October 2013. That is 0.07 percent of the current total, and Forbes lists no separate value for it.

Prometheus is the newest bet. Bezos became co-CEO in November 2025 when it was reported to have $6.2 billion, and a June 2026 headline put a new $12 billion round at about $41 billion. His percentage is unpublished.

Real Estate: Reported Prices From a $165 Million Estate to Florida Compounds

  • February 2020: $165 million for the 9.4-acre Warner estate in Beverly Hills, bought from David Geffen, who paid $47.5 million in 1990
  • 2020: Bezos Expeditions paid $90 million for undeveloped Los Angeles land from Paul Allen’s estate, and about $80 million for three New York apartments
  • 2023 and 2024: $68 million, $79 million and $90 million for three homes on Indian Creek, Florida

The Indian Creek purchases total $237 million. With the Beverly Hills estate that is $402 million, about 0.1 percent of the total, and these are prices paid rather than appraisals.

If Amazon Moves 10 Percent: Three Scenarios for the Total

Image: Bezos Earth Fund
  • Amazon down 10 percent to $223.20: the stake loses $21.8 billion and the total falls to $346.3 billion
  • Amazon up 10 percent to $272.80: the total rises to $389.9 billion
  • Blue Origin 25 percent lower at $97.5 billion: the total falls $32.5 billion to $335.6 billion

The private company can move the total more than a bad week in the stock. Real swings are smaller: Amazon closed at $262.45 on 19 October and $248.00 on 23 October, a 5.5 percent drop worth $12.7 billion to his stake. Amazon reports earnings on 29 October.

The Selling Record: Four Trading Plans Since November 2023

  1. Plan of 8 November 2023: 50,000,000 shares sold in February 2024 for $8.5 billion
  2. Plan of 2 March 2024: 25,000,000 shares sold in July and November 2024 for $5.1 billion
  3. Plan of 4 March 2025: 25,000,000 shares sold in June and July 2025 for $5.7 billion
  4. Plan of 14 November 2025: up to 15,000,000 shares until 26 February 2027; 1,209,649 sold on 3 August 2026 at $286.41, raising $346 million

Earlier years were larger in dollars. His Form 4 filings show $2.0 billion of sales in 2017, $2.8 billion in 2019, $10.2 billion in 2020 and $10.0 billion in 2021, all before the split, when each share cost more than $1,000. Nothing was sold in 2022 or 2023.

That is 101,209,649 shares and $19.6 billion in 30 months. Up to 13,790,351 shares remain under the newest plan, worth $3.4 billion at $248.00.
