LEGO Fortnite Odyssey is the survival and crafting half of LEGO Fortnite. You build a village, gather resources across four biomes, craft gear up a rarity ladder and head for bosses such as the Storm King. It launched on 7 December 2023, and a lot has been deleted since.
Hunger, crafting-bench upgrades and the Expeditions mode have all gone, so any walkthrough that mentions them is out of date. This guide describes the game as it stands on 5 November 2026. The social Brick Life mode is a separate experience and is not covered here.
Four World Types: Survival, Sandbox, Cozy and Expert
Every Odyssey world starts with a choice of world type. An account holds up to 8 worlds, and each world takes up to 8 players.
| World type | Difficulty | What changes |
|---|---|---|
| Survival | Standard | Enemies at night, temperature and stamina in play |
| Sandbox | Relaxed | Aimed at building rather than danger |
| Cozy | Gentle | Added with update v30.10; temperature and stamina off by default |
| Expert | Hard | Permanent elimination and tougher Storm-Wild enemies |
Worlds are private. Friends join by invitation or with a world key, and anyone you invite must already be on your Fortnite friends list. Because crossplay is built in, friends on other platforms can share a village, as our note on Fortnite crossplay explains. A key holder can keep building while the owner is offline.
If you are new, pick Cozy to learn the build and crafting systems, then start a Survival world once the basics are familiar. Expert is best left until you are comfortable with the survival basics, since elimination is permanent.
What LEGO Fortnite Odyssey Has Deleted Since Launch
Four systems that older guides describe no longer work the way they say. The table gives the date each one changed and what replaced it.
| System | When it changed | What replaced it |
|---|---|---|
| Crafting bench upgrades | Update v30.20, June 2024 | Recipes now appear when you first pick up the matching resource |
| Hunger | Update v37.50, 9 October 2025 | Food gives buffs, and Health Potions from the Cauldron do the healing |
| Expeditions | 1 November 2025 | Folded into Odyssey, with Hero Classes arriving on 3 October 2025 |
| Guided Build as the default | Update v42.00, 20 August 2026 | Quick Build is now the default, and brick-by-brick is still selectable |
The practical effect is that a modern Odyssey run is less about upkeep. You never refill a food meter, you do not climb a bench ladder before you can craft, and you do not need a separate queue for hero content. Temperature, however, is still live in Survival and Expert worlds, and it shapes where you can go.
The Starting Biomes and the Resources Each One Holds

The map is split by biome, and each biome is gated by tools rather than player level. A fourth area, the Shores, sits along the water. Lost Isles, added on 17 September 2024, and NINJAGO Island, added in December 2025, are reached by separate routes rather than by walking.
| Biome | Climate | Surface resources | Cave and ore finds |
|---|---|---|---|
| Grasslands | Mild, cold after dark | Wood, Granite, Pumpkins, Corn, Raspberries | Knotroot and Marble in caves |
| Dry Valley | Hot by day, cold at night | Flexwood grown in cacti | Rough Amber, Copper, Obsidian and Rough Ruby; Bright Cores and Blast Cores in lava caves |
| Frostlands | Freezing | Frostpine trees | Iron, Malachite and Rough Sapphire in ice caves |
The order you visit them is the order of the table. Grasslands gives you wood and stone to build a shack, Dry Valley supplies Copper and Obsidian, and the Frostlands hold Iron. Skip ahead and you will find that trees and ore simply will not break.
The Tool Ladder From Common to Epic
Every axe and pickaxe belongs to a rarity tier, and the tier decides which material it can break. This is the clearest map of the progression, and it still holds true.
| Tier | Axe cuts | Pickaxe mines | Where you meet it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Common | Wood | Granite | Starting gear |
| Uncommon | Knotroot | Marble and Rough Amber | Grasslands caves, Dry Valley |
| Rare | Flexwood | Copper, Obsidian and Rough Ruby | Dry Valley |
| Epic | Frostpine | Iron, Malachite and Rough Sapphire | Frostlands |
The recipe ingredients for these tools have changed since 2024, because recipes now appear once you pick up the relevant resource rather than when you upgrade the bench. Check the recipe in the game instead of copying an old shopping list.
Crafting Bench and Stations as They Work Today
The Crafting Bench costs 3 Wood and 5 Granite and is available from the start. It begins with a Forest Axe, Pickaxe, Shovel, Fishing Rod, Hunting Dagger, Health Charm and Torch already craftable, and its categories are Tools, Weapons, Accessories and Equipment.
Specialist stations handle the rest:
- Lumber Mill. Turns Wood into Planks and Rods.
- Stone Breaker and Gem Cutter. Process stone and gems.
- Smelter. Refines ore into metal bars.
- Grill and Mixer. Make the food that grants buffs.
- Cauldron. Brews potions, including Health Potions.
- Hero Station. Crafts Hero Weapons and Ability Equipment, added in update v37.50.
Temperature, Threats and How to Survive Both
Temperature is the one survival pressure that survived the hunger removal. Grasslands turn cold at night and a Torch handles it. The Frostlands are freezing, so bring the Inner Fire Charm or cold-resistant food. Dry Valley and lava caves are hot, and the Cool-Headed Charm or Snowberry food buffs offset the heat. Cozy worlds switch temperature and stamina off.
The enemy roster is wider than the early game suggests:
- Spiders and Skeletons, which come out at night
- Wolves and Rollers on the open ground
- Brutes, including Frost Brutes and Sand Brutes
- Scorpions, and Bone Wolves in the ice caves
- Mine Skeletons that throw dynamite, and Blasters that explode
- Pirates and minifigure raiders
Expert worlds add Storm-Wild versions of these enemies. Health is counted in hearts, and a Health Charm from the bench is worth crafting early.
Village Levels 1 to 10 and What Each Gives You

The village is the real progression system. Build a Village Square from wood and granite, give visitors beds, and they move in and take jobs. The village then levels from 1 to 10.
| Village level | What it adds |
|---|---|
| 1 | The first villager can move in |
| 2 | Villagers start gathering and refining materials |
| 4 | Villagers cook, plant seeds and farm |
| 5 | Rarer explorers start visiting |
| 6 | Villagers smelt metal, refine textiles and collect gems |
| 7 | Villagers bring unique recipes |
| 9 | Villagers forage in other biomes |
| 10 | Needed for the Expert trophies |
Village Rating also matters, and decorating and building feed into it. The build themes run from Starter Shack and Log Cabin through Pleasant Park and Majestic Manor to Shogun Palace, so a bigger plan pays off. Villagers with jobs are the quickest way to stockpile materials while you explore.
Bosses and What Beating LEGO Fortnite Odyssey Means

There is no ending and no credits roll. The long-term goals are a Level 10 village, the Expert trophies and the bosses. The Storm King, added on 10 December 2024 with the Storm Chasers update, is the best-known one.
The Storm King fight as it was set up in December 2024 started with the Storm Chaser base, beating Raven and powering the Tempest Gateway, which needs at least 10 Eyes of the Storm. The fight then took place inside the storm with a one-hour limit, and about 8 geared players were recommended. Aim for the glowing yellow weak points around the horns. That guidance dates from launch, so confirm the details in the game.
Newer targets exist. NINJAGO brought the Thing from Beneath, a boss in the Mist Reaches, and Chaos Portals with Fire and Ice Dragons in April 2026. For the Expert trophies you defeat the Storm-Wild Brute variant in a biome and then interact with a Level 10 village. There are three biome trophies in all.
Updates Since 2024: NINJAGO, Star Wars and Quick Build
| Date | Update | What it added |
|---|---|---|
| 17 September 2024 | Lost Isles | New landmasses reached by Battle Bus, plus the Klombo creature |
| 10 December 2024 | Storm Chasers | Mode renamed Odyssey; the Storm King raid boss added |
| 1 May 2025 | Star Wars | Crossover content in Odyssey and Brick Life |
| 3 October 2025 | Hero Classes | Class-based combat arrives from Expeditions |
| 9 October 2025 | Update v37.50 | Hunger removed; Hero Station, Cauldron and potions added |
| 9 December 2025 | NINJAGO: Rise of the Ninja | NINJAGO Island and Spinjitzu |
| April 2026 | NINJAGO follow-ups | The Thing from Beneath boss and Chaos Portals with dragons |
| May 2026 | Star Wars part two | Hover Brick, craftable lightsabers and Mos Espa |
| 20 August 2026 | Update v42.00 | Quick Build becomes the default |
| 15 October 2026 | Brick or Treat | Halloween event running to 12 November, with a catch-up window |

Quick Build, from update v42.00, is the change you will notice first. It replaced Guided Build as the default, gets faster the longer you build, and lets you place several pieces at once. Update v42.40 also gave mobile players an 8-slot quickbar and aim and zoom for ranged weapons.
What Is Coming and What the LEGO Pass Costs
Epic has said that every update through 2026 adds a new building skill. Quick Build came first, Edit Build is slated for the fall and Save Build for the winter. Treat both of those as upcoming until they appear in the game’s update notes. For a wider look at what to play next, try our list of the best open world games.
The LEGO Pass is optional. It costs 1,200 V-Bucks, down from 1,400 in March 2026, and it is included with Fortnite Crew. Epic has scheduled a LEGO Mini-Pass for 5 December 2026. If you are topping up with a gift card, this walkthrough shows how to redeem a V-Bucks gift card.
